Commission Structure
Commission is charged only when a sale completes and is calculated from the actual final sale price. There is no commission if your registration does not sell.

Commission and the estimated seller payout are shown before a listing is submitted. The final calculation uses the actual sale price.
DVLA Vehicle Removal Fee
The £80 deduction applies only when the registration must be taken off a vehicle after it sells.
- Registration assigned to a vehicle: the current £80 DVLA vehicle removal fee is deducted from the seller payout.
- Registration held on a V750 or V778: the vehicle removal has already taken place, so no additional £80 removal fee is deducted.
- The V750 or V778 must be valid, and the future expiry date shown on the document must be entered when the registration is listed.
- The buyer is not charged this seller-side vehicle removal fee on top of the winning bid or Buy Now price.

Seller Payout Examples
The examples below compare a registration still assigned to a vehicle with one already held on a valid V750 or V778.
Example 1 – £2,000 final sale price
- Commission: 10% of £2,000 = £200
- Vehicle listing payout: £2,000 − £200 − £80 = £1,720
- V750/V778 listing payout: £2,000 − £200 = £1,800
- Buyer pays: £2,000
Example 2 – £7,500 final sale price
- Commission: 8% of £7,500 = £600
- Vehicle listing payout: £7,500 − £600 − £80 = £6,820
- V750/V778 listing payout: £7,500 − £600 = £6,900
- Buyer pays: £7,500
Example 3 – £20,000 final sale price
- Commission: 7% of £20,000 = £1,400
- Vehicle listing payout: £20,000 − £1,400 − £80 = £18,520
- V750/V778 listing payout: £20,000 − £1,400 = £18,600
- Buyer pays: £20,000
Historical legacy listings
A small number of older listings may explicitly show the £80 fee as buyer-paid. Where that historical arrangement applies, it will be clearly stated on the listing and during checkout. New listings use the seller-side policy described above.
FAQs
Do I pay anything if my registration does not sell?
No. If it does not sell, for example because the reserve is not met, there is no listing fee or commission to pay.
Is commission based on the reserve or final sale price?
Commission is based on the actual final sale price, not the reserve price.
When is the £80 DVLA fee deducted?
It is deducted from the seller payout only when the registration is still assigned to a vehicle and must be taken off that vehicle. It is not deducted when the registration is already held on a valid V750 or V778.
Why is a V750 or V778 expiry date required?
The document must still be valid. You must enter the future expiry date shown on the V750 or V778 when creating the listing.
Does the buyer pay an extra DVLA removal fee?
No extra seller-side vehicle removal fee is normally added to the buyer's winning bid or Buy Now price. Any exceptional historical arrangement will be clearly shown before payment.
